From checklist to sent request
A request is one checklist sent to one or more clients. It is the unit Sealio tracks until every document is accepted.
- 1
Pick the clients
Choose one client, or up to 10 joint applicants or co-borrowers who share a request. Add a new client without leaving the page.
- 2
Pick a checklist
Use one of your checklists, start from the ready-made library, or begin blank. Sealio copies it into the request, so later edits to the checklist never change what a client already has.
- 3
Set the details
Add a message, a due date and a period such as 2026-Q3. Adjust the items for this client. The draft saves itself as you work.
- 4
Send
Each client gets an email with their own secure link. They confirm with a 6-digit code and see their checklist. No account, no password.
Requests that fit how your firm works
One request model covers one-off applications and work that repeats every period.
- Reusable checklists
- Group documents into sections, write plain-language instructions, and choose accepted file types, how many files, the size limit, and whether to ask for an expiry date.
- Required and optional items
- Mark each item required or optional. The request is complete when every required item has an accepted file.
- Edit after sending
- Add items or change their details on a sent request. Clients get an email listing what is new.
- Recurring schedules
- A schedule sends each client a new request every month, quarter or year, automatically or as drafts for you to check.
- Cases for one-off work
- Group the requests, stages and internal notes for one application, engagement or file, and clone it for a renewal.
- Documents already on file
- When a client has already sent an accepted, unexpired document of the same type, use it instead of asking again.
- Clear statuses
- Sent, In progress, Under review, Complete, and Overdue past the due date: the same words everywhere.
PlannedFrench versions of item names and instructions, sample files on an item, and items that appear only when an earlier answer calls for them.
From a new client to a sent request
A worked example with made-up names. Every step is something Sealio does today.
An immigration consultant signs a student on Friday afternoon. She chooses New request, adds the student as a new client without leaving the page, and picks her study permit checklist. Sealio copies its seven items into a draft.
This student has already paid tuition, so she switches the tuition receipt from optional to required, sets the due date to May 15, writes two lines at the top, and sends. The student gets an email, confirms a 6-digit code on his phone, and sees seven numbered items with her instructions under each. Her checklist itself is unchanged for the next client.
Create requests: questions and answers
Do clients need an account to upload documents?
No. Each client opens a personal link from the email and confirms with a 6-digit code sent to their address. There is no account or password to create.
Can one request go to several people?
Yes. Joint applicants or co-borrowers can share one request, up to 10 clients. Each gets their own link and code, and everyone’s uploads count toward the checklist.
Can I change a request after sending it?
Yes. You can add items or change their details, and clients are emailed what is new. Items that already have files cannot be removed.
How do recurring requests work?
A schedule sends each of its clients a new request from the same checklist every month, quarter or year. Each client gets their own request, so one late client never holds up the others.
