From accepted to filed
Documents rarely stay in the tool that collected them. Sealio makes the hand-off one step.
- 1
Set a naming pattern once
In Settings, choose how accepted files are named on download, for example {client}_{item}_{period}. The client’s original file is not changed.
- 2
Download the request
“Download all (ZIP)” packs every file that is not returned into one archive, with a folder per checklist section. It is prepared in the background, usually in seconds.
- 3
File it where it belongs
Drop the folder into your practice management or document system, already named and sorted.
Every way to get data out
Your data is yours. Each export is recorded in the audit log.
- Request ZIP
- One archive per request, a folder per section, available for an hour after it is prepared.
- Clients as CSV
- Export every client, including archived ones and your own fields. Import up to 1,000 clients at a time from a spreadsheet.
- Audit log as CSV
- Owners and Admins export up to 10,000 entries with the current filters.
- Full firm export
- On the Enterprise plan, Owners and Admins can download clients, requests, cases, documents and comments as JSON plus every uploaded file, once every 30 days. On other plans, ask Sealio support for a copy.
- Public API
- On every plan, read clients, requests and file details from your own systems. Pro and Enterprise add download links and reviewing documents through the API.
- Webhooks
- Get an event when a document is uploaded or a request completes on every plan; Pro and Enterprise add accepted, returned, reminder and note events.
From a completed request to the client folder
A worked example with made-up names. Every step is something Sealio does today.
A request for a personal tax return completes with nine accepted files. The preparer chooses Download all (ZIP). A few seconds later she has one archive with a folder per checklist section, and the files she downloads carry her firm’s naming pattern: client, item and period.
She drops the folder into the firm’s document system without renaming anything. At year end the owner exports the client list as CSV for a mailing, and the audit log for March as CSV for the firm’s own records. Each export appears in the audit log.
Exporting: questions and answers
Can I download all documents for a request at once?
Yes. “Download all (ZIP)” packs every file that is not returned into one ZIP with a folder per checklist section.
Can I control how exported files are named?
Yes. Owners and Admins set a naming pattern for accepted files, such as {client}_{item}_{period}. Only the download name changes; the file your client sent is untouched.
Can I export all of my firm’s data?
Yes. On the Enterprise plan you can start a full export yourself, once every 30 days. On other plans, contact Sealio support for a copy of your data.
Is there an API?
Yes. Every plan includes the public REST API and webhooks. Starter covers the core events and actions; Pro and Enterprise add every event, document review and downloads, and a higher rate limit. The free trial includes everything so you can test.
