Tax season is a chasing season
The work is not the return. It is getting the last slip from the last client.
- Documents arrive in pieces
- A T4 by email, a receipt by text, a statement as a photo of a screen. Someone has to rename and file each one.
- Follow-ups eat the week
- Every client needs the same reminder, written by hand, usually more than once.
- Nobody knows who is behind
- Which clients still owe March statements lives in one person’s head or a spreadsheet that is already out of date.
How Sealio fits an accounting practice
One request model covers the yearly return and the work that repeats every month.
- Ready-made checklists
- Start from the personal tax return checklist (T1 in Canada, ITR in India) or monthly bookkeeping, then edit it to match your firm.
- Schedules for recurring work
- Send each client a new request every month, quarter or year. Each send asks for the period that just ended.
- A client-by-period grid
- One row per client, one column per period, each cell a status. Who is missing March is a glance.
- Reminders without writing them
- Every 3 days, up to 5 times by default, listing exactly what is still missing.
- Engagements
- Group a client’s requests, stages and internal notes into an engagement, and clone it for next year.
- Your file names
- Download accepted files as {client}_{item}_{period}, already sorted into a folder per section.
A monthly bookkeeping client
A worked example with made-up names. Every step is something Sealio does today.
A firm keeps the books for a dental practice. A monthly schedule sends the practice manager a request on the 1st asking for the month that just ended: bank statements, card statements and the payroll summary. She uploads statements on the 3rd from the bank’s PDF export.
The payroll summary is late, so a reminder on the 4th asks for that one item. By the 10th everything is accepted, and the March cell in the schedule’s grid turns complete. In April the same request goes out again without anyone at the firm doing anything.

Accounting & tax: questions and answers
Can Sealio request the same documents every month?
Yes. A schedule sends each client a new request from the same checklist monthly, quarterly or yearly, automatically or as drafts for you to check first.
Is there a tax return checklist to start from?
Yes. Sealio includes a personal tax return checklist for Canada (T1) and for India (ITR), plus monthly bookkeeping and new client onboarding. You can edit every item.
Can clients upload from their phone?
Yes. The upload page is built for phones: clients open a link, confirm with a code, and take a photo or choose a file for each item.
Your next client is the last item on the list.
Start with a ready-made checklist or build your own, invite a client, and watch the stamps land.
